We do have pages dedicated to more specific local information but if we do a whistle-stop tour of the Costa del Sol we would start in Nerja. This is a popular town best known for its caves and the Balcon de Europa. From Nerja we drive towards Malaga and go past Velez Malaga which is a large city with good amenities and interesting architecture, many people visit Velez Malaga to shop in El Ingenio shopping Centre. A little further along the road we come into Malaga, famous for so many reasons including such as its architecture, historical buildings, Calle Larios and Picasso. Malaga also has a large port which is popular for many ferries. On the outskirts of Malaga we find the International Airport and close to it we find Plaza Mayor which is an outdoor centre full of restaurants and shopping facilities, in recent years it has seen many new shops open. Across from Plaza Mayor we have Torremolinos, famous for being the gay capital of Costa del Sol, one of the most popular areas for properties in Torremolinos is La Carihuela. Next to Torremolinos you will come into Benalmadena. Famous for its award-wining Marina, Paloma Park and Benal Beach. A short drive we come into Fuengirola, once a small fishing village, now a modern resort popular for holidays and for those wishing to relocate. Overlooking Mijas we find Mijas Pueblo which is the jewel in the crown of the white washed villages of Andalucia, popular all year round with terrific views over the Mediterranean Sea. Mijas Costa is the newer part of Mijas which borders with Fuengirola and goes up to Mijas Golf. Along the coast line we come across Calahonda which is a popular urbanisation with plenty of amenities and properties such as villas, apartments and townhouses for sale at excellent prices in places such as La Siesta and Las Casitas de Calahonda

Only 10 miles (16km) west of Calahonda, we come to the famous resort of Marbella with where you will find many famous complexes such as Alzambra, El Embrujo, Los Naranjos, Dama de Noche, Meisho Hills, Sierra Blanca, La Zagaleta, Playas del Duque, Locrimar, Jardines de la Aldaba just to mention a few. Throughout all these developments you will find a wide range of one, two and three bedroom apartments, penthouses or houses for sale as well as luxury villas within the area. Just a short drive from Marbella and Puerto Banus we go past San Pedro de Alcantara, popular as it has remained traditionally Spanish and has lovely beaches. Just past San Pedro and the New Golden Mile and Laguna Village we come into Estepona. If you are looking for a front line beach apartment in Costa del Sol, Doncella Beach is a must see, this is a luxury development in Estepona close to the port. A little further on from Estepona and towards Gibraltar, we come to Sotogrande which is a luxury resort with great polo and golfing facilities as well as a lovely marina.
